New Project

Starting on new work for Bucks Open Studios exhibition next June. Following on from previous Indian embroidery work, I am using a Colouricious printing block as a guide and embellishing with shisha, sequins, beads and hand embroidery.

I’ve been so wrapped up watching the Olympic Games that I had forgotten about my blogging!  I spent a long day last Friday at the Festival of Quilts at the NEC, Birmingham teaching Indian Embroidery. Here are a couple of the stitch samples I took with me.  Everyone was very keen to learn the Chemanthy stitch and Shisha embroidery on synthetic fabric.  In the first picture I have used a lovely lime green satin, and the second a cotton/linen mix.
